MACIEJ ŻBIKOWSKI, d. bef. 1742,[3/121:255] m. MARYANNA BAGIEŃSKA?.
Maciej Żbikowski was a resident of Ulatowo-Pogorzel in the parish of Chorzele in the early 1700's. The baptisms of several children are recorded to him and wife Maryanna between the years 1714 and 1727. Maryanna's surname is given in one of the records, but it has so far been too difficult to make out. She was probably a Bagieńska as a court record from 1726 names Jakub Żbikowski of Ulatowo-Pogorzel as the son of Maciej and his wife Marianna Bagieńska.[3/87:385] There was another child born to a Maciej Żbikowski but with wife Dorota in Pogorzel in 1701, so he may have had a previous wife to Maryanna or this could have been some other relation or a mistake in recording.
Court records make it likely that Maciej was the son of Wojciech[3/97:360] who was likely the son of Marcin.[3/101/66] According to a tax record of 1676, there was a widow Żbikowska living alone in Pogorzel.

Bartłomiej was alive in 1754[11/128:85] but deceased by about 1770 as evidenced by a record listing his sons.[11/140:203]

Only two children of Jakub and Anna have been identified at this time. A court record of 14 January 1780 lists Jakub as son of deceased Bartłomiej and grandson of deceased Maciej Żbikowski. It also gives his wife's father's name as Franciszek Ossowski.[10/22:25] Anna's father's name was listed as Bartłomiej in her death record, but this must have been a mistake because the court record of 50 years earlier is more likely to be correct.

Wojciech Żbikowski was a part owner of Ulatowo-Pogorzel, living in house #15. Jozefa (Lipowska) Żbikowska died prior to 1830, as Wojciech Żbikowski, age 50, remarried in that year to Maryanna Czaplicka.
